Illinois residents understand that conflicts involving family law matters can be very hard to deal with. Specifically, they can bring ample stress and financial discomfort. One way to approach these difficult disputes is through the process of mediation. In this process, a qualified family law attorney can help you work through your various issues in front of a neutral and the opposing party. If participants can work together to resolve their issues out of court, it can save a lot of stress and time.
A recent article reports that one former celebrity pair has resolved a dispute outside of court. Padma Lakshmi, host of "Top Chef," has settled her child custody battle with the father of her child, Adam Dell. According to reports, Dell previously filed for full custody of their two-year-old daughter, claiming that Lakshmi limited his visitation time.
However, a source reports that the couple has reached a compromise. The source says, "They settled privately out of court and came to an agreement." According to the settlement, Dell will receive greater visitation and custody rights. Furthermore, Dell will now be legally recognized as the father of the daughter, who will adopt Dell's last name in part of her legal name.
If you are in the middle of a family law dispute, you should know that you can avoid major stress if you settle a child visitation or custody matter out of court. If you would like to approach your issue in a very even-tempered and private way, mediation is one simplified option that can help.
